[Voice-over by Duncan MacLeod]
I am Duncan MacLeod, born four hundred years ago in the Highlands of Scotland. I am Immortal, and I am not alone. For centuries, we have waited for the time of the Gathering, when the stroke of a sword and the fall of a head will release the power of the Quickening. In the end, there can be only one.

Antique store

Woman - {I've never looked at} the ones upstairs. What about this?

Man - [looking at framed artwork] Nah. [to RR] Say, thanks, no, I want something a lot more modern than that.

Woman - Are you sure?

RR - [as customers leave] Thanks very much for stopping by.

Woman - Bye.

RR - Have a nice day. [as door closes] Cheapskates. [picks up dust rag, turns stereo on. Loud, driving rock music plays ("Cherry Bomb" by Joan Jett). RR dances about, cleaning.]

Street

[Felicia sits at a café table, drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette. Camera follows her as she walks down the street, while an unknown man in a black car follows her. She pauses, looking in a store window, and clenches her fist so that her nails bite into her palm, drawing blood. The black car can be seen as a reflection in the window. After it drives past, she turns her head to watch it. She continues walking, the car behind her again. She comes upon the antique store and enters.]

RR - [turning off stereo as song ends] Can I help you? [as Felicia looks around] Miss? Miss, can I help you with something? [as Felicia continues to say nothing] Are you okay?

Felicia - I don't know. This is an antique store . . .

RR - That's what the sign says.

Felicia - What am I doing here?

RR - Well, this may be a wild guess, but uh, you're gonna buy something real expensive and then . . . I close up early and take you for a cup of coffee.

Felicia - No . . . no, I've never even been in this part of town before. All of a sudden I'm standing outside this shop. I couldn't stop myself. Something drew me here. Something I can't explain.

RR - Ah, that must be my magnetic personality. [as Felicia 'swoons', RR catches her] <Hey, hey, hey, take it easy. Take it easy. Come here, come here. Sit down. [leads her to a chair] Just relax. Everything's going to be okay. CUT

Felicia - No, no it's not. Look, I'd better go. This is embarrassing. I'm sorry I've been such a drag.>

RR - Hey, hey, hey, it's no sweat. It's not every day a beautiful stranger just waltzes in here and falls into my arms. [pause] So, you got a name?

Felicia - I'm Felicia.

RR - I'm Richie. Listen, um, perhaps we could, uh, get together sometime. When your wheels touch the ground.

Felicia - Perhaps. I don't know.

RR - [pulling out business card] I just had these printed up. [hands it to her] You're the first lucky person to get one. You can reach me at that number.

Felicia - [reading card] "Richard H. Ryan." What does the "H" stand for?

RR - Actually it's . . . it's nothing. I just made it up.

Felicia - [puts card in her bra] Thanks.

RR - [notices her bloody palm] Wait, you're bleeding!

Felicia - It's nothing.

RR - Hold on one second. We gotta have some band-aids around here somewhere. I'll be right back. [walking into office] If anyone should have band-aids handy, it's got to be MacLeod. BIG band-aids. Voila! I found some. [comes out of office to find Felicia is gone.]

Skyscraper office building

[Felicia pauses outside, looks up at the building. As she walks toward it, her "shadow" pulls in down the street and parks. Felicia throws her purse in a nearby fountain and walks determinedly into the building. She gets on the elevator.]

Female Executive - [in elevator with Felicia] That's a beautiful outfit.

[Felicia exits the elevator wearing only a black teddy and hose. She has left her dress with the Female Executive.]

Man - [to his co-worker as Felicia walks past them] There IS a god.

[Felicia walks out onto the roof, stands at the edge, then jumps off. Her body lands on top of a car, shattering the windows. The mystery man, Devereux, watches as her body is loaded into an ambulance and driven away. As he gets back into his car, a broadsword is seen propped against the seat.]

Auction House

Tessa - I just can't believe it. Two hundred thousand dollars for a single sword.

DM - It's not just any sword.

Tessa - I know, I know. It's even older than you are.

DM - [to valet] Can I have the T-bird, please? [to Tessa] And it's in perfect condition.

Tessa - That makes two of you.

Antique store - office

DM - Mazamune was a genius. This blade is five hundred layers of carbon steel. It's a work of art.

Tessa - Personally, I prefer a {Shchedrin} landscape. But of course, you can't slice bread with a {Shchedrin} landscape. And then again, I suppose you won't be using that as a bread knife.

DM - [as Cominski enters] Good afternoon, Commishioner.

Cominski - MacLeod. Miss Noel. That's a nice sword. How much would something like this set me back?

DM - It's not for sale.

Cominski - That's a hell of a way to run a business.

DM - Are you here in an official capacity or simply to ponder the vicissitudes of the antique trade?

Cominski - Well, we do have a dead woman down at the morgue.

Tessa - Aren't they usually dead? Or do you sometimes make mistakes?

Cominski - She committed suicide off a downtown office tower -- seven hundred feet. Real mess. I tell ya', if I was planning to end it all, I could think of a lot cleaner ways.

DM - Why come to me?

Cominski - 'Cause she's a Jane Doe. No ID -- nothing in fingerprints -- even her teeth were perfect. Oh, however we did find this . . . [pulls out baggie] stuffed down her boo-- [off glare from Tessa] -- on her person. Five foot four. Brunette. Real looker. Does that ring a bell?

DM - [examining baggie, which contains RR's business card] No.

RR - [entering office] Yo, Mac, I'm just gonna . . . [sees Cominski] What'd I do now?

City Morgue

M.E. Assistant - Jane Doe, yeah. [looks at clipboard] Number 14.

Cominski - You sure this is the first time you saw this woman?

RR - The only time.

Cominski - Until now.

[M.E. opens number 14, pulls out drawer with only a bloody sheet on it.]

DM - Well, I guess you must have misplaced this one.

[As T-bird drives away, Devereux pulls up outside the morgue]

M.E. Assistant - [into phone] I keep telling you, the body's gone. Well, she didn't just get up and walk out of here. [as Devereux walks in] Hey, you can't come in here without authorization.

[Devereux hits M.E. Assistant, knocking him out, then looks at clipboard. Going to the drawers, he opens number 14 and finds the same bloody cloth. Angered, he slashes at the slab with his sword.]

Antique store

Tessa - [to customer] It’s an {anonymous} painter of the nineteenth century. It's French. It's--

RR - [interrupting] Tess! Ah, excuse me. Um, the guy said the book was temporarily out of stock.

Tessa - Why couldn’t he tell me that on the phone?

RR - Hey, don't look at me.

Tessa - [as door opens off screen] Oh my god.

RR - Felicia!

Customer - My word!

Felicia - [wearing blood-stained, flowered dress, with more blood on her face and neck] Richie, I'm scared! You were so nice to me this morning . . . I didn't know who else to turn to. Help me, please!

RR - I will! I will! I will! What the hell happened to you?

Felicia - This isn't my dress. I got it off a-- [faints]

RR - Oh my god! Felicia! [looks up at Tessa]

Loft apartment

RR - [tiptoeing out of his bedroom, whispers to Tessa] She's sleeping.

Tessa - [who is smoking a cigarette] There must be some mistake. People don't fall seven hundred feet off a skyscraper and survive. Did she tell you what happened?

RR - Well . . .

Tessa - Richie, from what I can tell, under all that grime, there is a very gorgeous human being. But you don't know anything about her.

RR - So what was I supposed to say to her? "I'm sorry you're having a bad day, now get lost?" Look, she just needs a place to crash for a while. She can stay in my room; I'll sleep on the couch.

Tessa - I'm not talking about sleeping arrangements! Have you forgotten who Duncan is? He's not going to be happy, having a perfect stranger move in with us! And do you think Cominski's going to let this drop?

RR - I'm sorry. I didn't think.

Tessa - That's the problem. Sometimes you don't think. At least not with your head.

RR - Oh, Tessa, come on! I'm young. My libido's in meltdown.

Tessa - Richie, the whole world can't revolve around your hormone level. [as DM enters] Duncan . . . that girl . . .

DM - I know. She's alive. And she's here. Get out, both of you.

RR - What? I don't get it . . .

DM - Now!

Tessa - Just do as he says.

RR - All right. [follows Tessa out]

Loft apartment - Richie's bedroom

DM - [feels BUZZ intensify, walks into bedroom where Felicia is sleeping. She wakes and rolls over to look at him] I am Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod. Who are you?

Felicia - Felicia. Felicia Martins. From Philadelphia. Am I going crazy?

DM - No. [frowns, sits on bed] Don't be frightened. You can thank God I'm the one that found you.

CUT

Antique store - night

Felicia - About three months ago, I started having these emotions. They were, uh . . . I can't even describe them. I mean, I thought I was going mad. I was brought up to believe that killing yourself was a sin. But I just wanted to die.

DM - Tell me about this morning.

Felicia - Well, I was having a coffee, at this sidewalk café . . . I was trying to get up the nerve to . . . and then this feeling took control of me, and the next thing you know, I was in this room, talking to Richie.

<DM - You see, it's only when we die that we become Immortal. Maybe the closer you came to that time, you instinctively began searching for someone who could help you. CUT

Felicia - But I'd never even heard of you. I mean, you make it sound as if we're linked together in some way.

DM - We are. We're linked and locked for all time.

Felicia - You're putting me on, right?

DM - No. Believe it, Felicia. Your life depends on it.>

Felicia - But you just told me I couldn't die.

DM - Well, there's one way. Your head can be severed from your body.

Felicia - What?! Oh great! Look, I want out of this.

DM - Felicia, this isn't a club. You can't just cancel your membership.

Felicia - What, I'm supposed to wait around for some maniac to chop my head off?

DM - No. The Gathering is here. You will be challenged by Immortals with centuries of experience -- men and women who live and die by the sword.

Felicia - Oh man. Then what am I gonna do?

DM - I'm going to teach you.

Felicia - Teach me? Teach me what?

DM - How to kill them before they kill you.

Felicia - Okay. Okay, what's my other choice?

DM - Ha. You don't have one. Get some rest.

Felicia - [walks past map on display] This is the Coronelli map of London, 1689. It's very rare to find a copy with an ornamental border. It's very rare. This one must have cost a fortune.

DM - You really know maps.

Felicia - It's a hobby of mine. It's too bad this one's a fake.

DM - [laughs] That's impossible.

Felicia - What can I say? Good night.

Devereux's apartment

[Devereux is lifting weights and listening to classical music. He walks over to his sword, picks it up, and strokes the blade. As he stares at a painting of a woman and toddler, a tear runs down his cheek.]

Flashback - France, 1875

[Devereux's wife sings in French to her baby. She is startled by a hand on her shoulder.]

D's wife - [turning] Felice Martin!

Felicia - You must be his woman. And what's this? It can't be his.

D's wife - It is. We adopted the baby.

Felicia - So Devereux's settling down? Trying to become the family man? How pathetic.

D's wife - Go away! You won't find him here. He's in Paris on business.

Felicia - I know. I didn't come for him.

[D's wife runs, screaming for help. Felicia catches her and pushes her head under water in the fountain, drowning her.]

Felicia - He's an impressive fighter, your Monsieur Devereux. By the time I meet him face to face, I want him to have NOTHING to live for. Non. [D's wife stops struggling and Felicia releases her, then turns as the baby begins to cry.] I'd almost forgotten you, little one.

Antique Store

RR - [as Felicia walks in] Wow. That is some outfit.

Felicia - It's Tessa's.

RR - Yeah, I know. I recognize it. You know, you'd make a great model.

Felicia - Yeah, I used to do some sitting, but I didn't go for it. I mean, lying there naked, with all those guys looking at my body . . .

RR - Yeah, must be kinda weird.

Felicia - Turned me on. Problem was, there was nothing I could do about it. [moves closer to RR] So how long have you worked for Mac?

RR - 'Bout six months.

Felicia - Mac really cares about you, doesn't he?

RR - Yeah, I think he does, in his own screwy medieval way.

Felicia - What about Tessa?

RR - Tessa? Tessa's . . . Tessa. Um, sometimes I think she wishes I'd never moved in, and then . . . other times . . .

Felicia - No, I meant MacLeod really loves her.

RR - Oh, yeah, he's wild about her.

Felicia - Man, that must be great. To have somebody so crazy about you that they'd do ANYTHING for you.

<RR - It happens. Now and again. CUT

Felicia - If you don't kiss me real soon, I'm gonna be very disappointed.> [kisses RR] Let's go to your room.

RR - [trying to argue as Felicia continues kissing him] But Tessa and MacLeod are around here someplace.

Felicia - Yeah, you're right. Bad idea. 'Cause I make a lot of noise.

RR - [groans] I have never met anyone like you before in my life. Thank god. I'd be dead.

Tessa - [walking in with DM] Felicia. [Felicia and RR break apart] Are you ready?

Felicia - Oh yeah, right. I forgot. I'll see you later, Richie.

RR - Yeah.

Tessa - We won't be long.

RR - Where are you guys off to?

<Tessa - Shopping. CUT

Felicia - Yeah, I can't wear Tessa's things forever. We'll finish our . . . talk later.

Street outside antique store

[As T-bird pulls away, Devereux drives up]

Antique store

RR - Can I help you with something, sir?>

Devereux - Do you know a woman by the name of Felicia? Felicia Martins.

RR - Felicia Martins, um . . . no, I can't say that I do. But I'll be--

Devereux - Either you tell me the truth now, or you tell me later. Now is a lot easier.

RR - Truth and honesty are my middle names, but I've never heard of this Felicia. [Devereux pushes him to the floor] Just who do you think you're pushing around here?!

Devereux - You. [throws RR to the ground again. Unnoticed, his wallet falls to the ground by a display case.]

RR - [hits his chin on the floor as he falls, then gets back up and grabs sword from display] Pal . . . vanish. Now! Before I call the cops.

Devereux - [holding point of sword to his chest] Go ahead. Stick it right here. If you don't, I'm gonna rip your heart out.

RR - Look, I told ya', I've never heard of this woman. Get outta here, NOW!

Devereux - Somehow, I don't believe you, but . . . for now, I'll let it go. [turns back with a warning --] I was never here.

RR - Yeah, I know. I just had a major memory blow-out.

[later]

DM - You never saw this man before?

RR - [holding ice pack on jaw] Never. He just breezed right in.

DM - And you're sure he was an Immortal?

RR - I'd stake my life on it.

DM - Well, whoever he is, he's still out there. [to Felicia] And you're a sitting target.

Tessa - Richie's one as well.

RR - Hey, I can take care of myself.

DM - Is that why your face looks like a blueberry pancake?

[RR fumes, then storms out]

Felicia - You didn't have to put him down like that. He's very sweet.

<DM - He could also be very dead. [pause] So, you're positive the Coronelli map is a fake. Your reason? CUT

Felicia - I painted it. Surprise. Okay, I haven't exactly been truthful. I met this guy. He said people would pay big bucks for the right maps. He knew everything, but he couldn't draw to save his life. And I'm good, aren't I?

DM - Very good.

Felicia - I'll pay you back, don't worry. Just as soon as I get some money.>

DM - Well, let's hope you live long enough. Good night. Tomorrow we start your training.

Tessa - Good night. Switch out the lights, please. [follows DM out]

[Felicia reaches for light switch, then notices Devereux's wallet on the ground. She picks it up and looks inside, smiling]

Warehouse

Felicia - Suppose I survive the -- what did you call it? The Gathering? -- What happens then?

DM - You would have absolute power. Take this sword.

Felicia - Absolute power. Hey, it's worth a shot.

DM - Don't joke about it. That is a Mazamune sword. No one has ever fought with a finer weapon. Now come at me.

<Felicia - Well . . . I don't want to hurt you. CUT

DM - You won't. [begins blocking Felicia's hesitant attacks] Okay. Now take the sword in your right hand, just behind the guard. Good. Feel the rhythm of the blade. Use your feet, through your legs. Put your left hand on the blade to give you power and control. [Felicia follows his instructions] Good, your strong. [Felicia smiles] Your strength is in the blade, not in the arms. That's why you'll be able to fight as well as a man. Now when you attack, attack with the weak part of the blade. When you defend . . . come at me. [parries Felicia's blade] Change the rhythm of your attack, so that your opponent cannot anticipate your true speed. [as Felicia continues] That's very good.

Felicia - So all the knowledge and power are shared by the Immortals?

DM - That's right. There's some who can't wait to get their hands on it.

Felicia - [resumes her attack] Bad guys -- how do you tell which is which?>

DM - You can't . . . until it's too late.

Felicia - Well, that's comforting.

DM - [ends exchange with his sword against Felicia's neck] If I were to take your head off right now, I would receive all your knowledge and strength. That is the Quickening.

Felicia - I'm afraid I don't have very much knowledge or strength.

DM - Guess I'd better wait awhile. [moves away] Again.

CUT

Felicia's bedroom - night

[Felicia sits in bed, holding Devereux's wallet and looking at his ID card.]

Devereux's apartment

[Devereux is playing the violin when he feels BUZZ. He grabs his sword as Felicia kicks in the door.]

Felicia - I came to finish what you started, Devereux.

Devereux - You have a short memory, Felice Martin. [flash on Felicia drowning Devereux's wife.] You were the one that started this a hundred and twenty years ago.

Felicia - You DO have a long memory.

Devereux - You destroyed everything that was dear to me.

Felicia - That was the idea.

Devereux - I swore I'd find you. And then a few weeks ago, they said you'd gone to America. You deliberately threw yourself from the tower. You knew you would not die. Why?

Felicia - The Highlander.

Devereux - MacLeod is here? [Felicia attacks] {Why?}

Felicia - I want him. [knocks Devereux down and takes his head.] There can be only one. [takes Quickening.]

Loft apartment - living room

RR - [sleeping on couch, wakes up to find Felicia looking at him] Felicia? What's wrong?

Felicia - Nothing. Nothing at all. As a matter of fact, I feel incredible. Make love to me, Richie. [kisses him] Now. Before this feeling goes away.

Warehouse - next morning

DM - [training Felicia] Good. Now, you feel the flow. Make sure you keep the distance. Again. [they exchange blows] That's much better. But remember, this isn’t an Olympic event. There's no medal for placing second. Anything and everything is allowed.

Felicia - [knees DM in groin] Like that?

DM - [bent over] Yeah. Just like that. [stands up quickly and swings his sword with one hand, then grabs Felicia by the neck with his other.] Never forget you have two hands. [Felicia turns away in anger] Face me. [she does] The most important lesson: anger doesn't give you an edge -- it blunts it. Make your adversary angry. The madder he gets, the more chances you have he will make a mistake.

Felicia - And one mistake's all I'll need. Let's try again.

DM - No, that's enough for today. [moves to bench and sits]

Felicia - If this sword was made by the greatest craftsman who ever lived, how come you're not using it? [sits down and sets sword next to her]

DM - This sword and I have survived for four hundred years. It was given to me by another Immortal -- a clansman. It is an extension of who I am.

Felicia - Well, that's something I'll never have.

DM - That's not true. Your reality starts here. Keep the Mazamune; it's yours. [Felicia reaches to pick up her sword] Don't touch the blade. Always use the handle. Take good care of it, make it part of you. It may be the only friend you have.

Antique store

RR - So MacLeod finally gave in, huh?

Tessa - Excuse me?

RR - [motioning to empty easel where the Coronelli map had been displayed.] I said, "so MacLeod finally gave in."

Tessa - What?

RR - He took the Coronelli map off display!

Tessa - Yeah. I'm sure he had his reasons.

RR - Like, maybe he was wrong, but that could never happen, could it?

Tessa - Duncan is hard-headed, but he's far from stupid. He doesn't trust Felicia. And I don't blame him.

RR - So this is "Trash-Felicia" week.

Tessa - Richie, I've never met a female Immortal before -- okay, fine, I admit it -- but I have known a hundred women just like her.

RR - She's gonna break my heart and leave me lonely. Tessa, I don't care.

Tessa - I don't buy that.

RR - I mean I don't care what happens a month from now, or a year from now. I've got time on my side. Not like you.

Cominski - [enters store] Excuse me. [points at RR] You.

Tessa - I'll be in my workshop. [leaves]

RR - Cominski. Back again. We cannot go on meeting like this.

Cominski - Don't get fresh with me, kid. That woman that you said came in here before she jumped off the tower . . .

<RR - Felicia Martins. CUT

Cominski - Yeah, her. The one who did the disappearing act down at the morgue. You seen anything of her?>

Alley behind antique store

DM - [stopping T-Bird] I have a couple of things to do, so stay inside . . .

Felicia - And don't go anywhere without you. I know. [watches DM drive off]

Antique store

Cominski - I know this sounds bizarre, but this woman may be the killer we've been after all these months.

RR - A dead woman walks out of the morgue and starts hacking people's heads off. Yes, I would definitely say bizarre is a good word.

Cominski - You see her, you give me a call. Okay?

RR - For you, Cominski, anything. [winks sarcastically] Now you be sure and have a nice day.

[Cominski leaves]

Felicia - Hi.

RR - Heeeeey . . . Hello.

Sam Thompson's lab

Sam - So someone finally pulled the wool over Duncan MacLeod's eyes. How much did they set you back?

DM - Ten thousand.

Sam - Ten thousand would be a good price for a Coronelli.

DM - If it were genuine.

Sam - Eh, maybe I've spent too many years checking out forgeries, Duncan, but who the hell's to say what's genuine? Take this map. It's a beautiful piece of work. It gives you pleasure. What does it matter who drew it?

DM - It matters very much right now.

Sam - Ah, make a note, Sam. Don't ever try to rip off Duncan MacLeod. I've never seen you this steamed.

DM - I'm not angry, I'm just . . . curious.

Sam - Get outta here. Your pride's showing, lad.

DM - Someone told me it was a forgery. I just . . . I don't believe them.

Sam - Believe 'em. Believe 'em. But I can see how you were fooled. It's not a Coronelli, but it's as damned near as makes no difference.

DM - What do you mean?

Sam - The oxidation of the ink. Whoever forged this, forged it at least two hundred years ago.

Antique store

Felicia - Don't you understand? I had to kill him, Richie. Listen, sooner or later that cop's gonna come back. Come away with me. Europe . . . Africa . . . Anywhere, as long as we're together.

RR - What about MacLeod and Tessa?

Felicia - You don't need them anymore. I love you. I want to be with you forever.

RR - Yeah, well, forever's a relative word for us, isn't it?

Felicia - I want to be with you to the day you die. And that's a promise.

RR - All right, let's go. [they kiss]

Felicia - Richie, we don't need any money. I've got a box in my apartment. It's under the floorboards by the window in my bedroom.

RR - I thought you were broke.

Felicia - Well, it's the money from the maps that I forged. I want YOU to go pick it up. Someone might recognize me. You know Highcliff Park? [RR nods] That small beach by the pier? I'm gonna go rent a car, I'm gonna pack your things, I'll meet you there at eight.

RR - I should say goodbye to Tessa.

Felicia - That's not a good idea, and you know it. I'll say goodbye for you. [kisses him again] I love you. See you at eight.

RR - Okay. [leaves]

Tessa's workshop

Tessa - [startled by Felicia's hand on her shoulder] Felicia, you frightened me.

Felicia - I came to say goodbye.

Tessa - Why? Where are you going?

Felicia - I'm not going anywhere. You are. It's part of my strategy. Always has been. Cut away a man's support and watch him crumble.

Tessa - You're after Duncan? I knew it! You're out of your mind -- he'll destroy you.

Felicia - Could be . . . but you'll be dead.

Tessa - [knocks over metal statue, then turns on blowtorch] Don't even think about it. I may not be able to kill you, but I'll give you a facial you won't forget. Now get out!

Felicia - You tell MacLeod to meet me at Andrews Beach tonight at eight.

Tessa - What makes you think he'll come?

Felicia - If he doesn't show, he won't be able to say bye-bye to little Richie.

Beach - night

Felicia - [dressed in leather and metal with dramatic makeup] Hey, kid.

RR - Felicia?

Felicia - [sneering] What?

RR - I-I didn't recognize you. What-what . . .

Felicia - It must be the outfit. I kinda like it. It's more me.

RR - Yeah, yeah, yeah, uh, the outfit, um . . . look, we've got a problem. I took your bedroom apart -- I couldn't find the money anywhere.

Felicia - Get real, kid. You really think I'd hide money under the floorboards? I just needed to get you on this beach. My money's in Zurich.

RR - Zurich?

DM - Yeah. Where all the old Immortals keep their money.

RR - MacLeod, what the hell are you doing here?

Felicia - How'd you figure that one out?

DM - The map. You just couldn't keep your mouth shut, could you?

Felicia - I take pride in my work.

[they fight, as music plays -- "Don't Lose Your Head" by Queen. Fight ends with Felicia impaled by DM's sword.]

Felicia - You didn't teach me that one, Highlander.

DM - The Italian's call it {depassa desoto}. It's used for overly aggressive attackers who are off balance.

[As DM withdraws his blade, Felicia yells and swings at him. DM's katana cuts her sword's blade in two.]

DM - That sword I gave you was a noble weapon. I TOLD you to make it part of yourself, but you cannot do that when you do not know who you are. It would have served you well . . . against any other sword but this one. [raises his katana]

RR - No, no, no! Mac, please!

Felicia - Do it.

DM - Cross my path again and I will.

Felicia - We'll see each other again. [collapses onto sand]

DM - It better not be in this lifetime. [to RR] You okay?

RR - Yeah. What about her?

DM - She'll survive. [walks off]

RR - Mac . . . I'm sorry.
