We rode the hop-a-bus all over town today, getting off in a few places to explore. We were disappointed to find that the Lipizzaner horse museum has closed. We broke our no-museum rule and visited the art museum, which was great. One advantage was that many of the exhibits didn't have English signage, so we could look and stroll, greatly lowering the time required to make our way through, and we had actually heard of many of the artists displayed there. They also had a lot of Egyptian exhibits. We especially enjoyed the mummified animals, including an adult crocodile. Our first impression of Vienna was only reinforced by what we saw today.

We met a young fellow at the hostel who is from Colleyville, Tx. Such a small world! One must always be careful of one's behavior, even when far from home, for there is no telling who might see one and report said behavior.

We've been surprised at the weather. It was in the mid 90s today, or 34C. Our hostel is not air conditioned, and it takes a while to cool off at night.
